Integration

Integrations that let data flow – without manual handoffs

When your systems do not talk to each other, your organisation pays the price in duplicate data entry, errors and delayed insight. Nuvinno designs and builds integrations between ERP, CRM, line-of-business systems and cloud platforms – with clear ownership, logging and error handling. The result is more reliable processes, better decision support and an IT landscape that can cope with change over time.

System integrations

Integration

Integration as business infrastructure

Most organisations use several systems: finance in ERP, customer relationships in CRM, operational data in line-of-business systems, and perhaps their own applications or reporting tools on top. When these are not connected, silos form. Employees copy data manually, the figures do not match between departments, and leadership bases decisions on information that is already out of date by the time it reaches the meeting room.

Integrations are about more than technical connections. They are about how information should flow through the organisation, who owns the data, and which processes should be automated. Nuvinno works closely with the business side and IT to understand these questions before we design the solution. We build integrations that are understandable, maintainable and documented – not fragile scripts that only one person knows.

Our approach is pragmatic and Nordic: we choose an architecture that suits your maturity and ambitions, whether that means API-based point-to-point connections, event-driven integrations or an integration platform in the cloud. The goal is always the same – fewer manual steps, higher data quality and a foundation for further digitalisation without tearing everything up for each new change.

What is the service?

Nuvinno’s integration service covers the mapping, design, implementation, testing and management of connections between systems. We connect ERP, CRM, HR systems, warehouse systems, line-of-business systems, public registers and your own applications – via APIs, file exchange, message queues or integration platforms such as Azure Logic Apps and Azure Service Bus.

We start by understanding which data needs to flow, in which direction, how often and to what quality requirements. We then design an integration architecture that balances simplicity, robustness and future flexibility. You get not only a technical solution, but also the documentation, monitoring and error handling that make the integrations operable day to day.

The service covers the entire lifecycle: from the initial mapping of existing silos to ongoing maintenance when system vendors update their APIs or the business introduces new processes. We can also modernise older integrations that have become critical but fragile – without the organisation having to grind to a halt for months.

Data synchronisation is a central part of what we deliver. Whether it concerns customers, products, orders, invoices, projects or case data, we make sure master data and transactions are handled consistently. We clearly define which system is the master for which data, how conflicts are handled, and how discrepancies are detected and corrected.

What challenges do we solve?

Integration challenges often show up as frustration in day-to-day operations – not as technical error messages. The accounts team has to manually check the figures coming from sales, customer service cannot find up-to-date information, and leadership doubts the reports. We address the root cause by establishing reliable, automated data flows between the systems.

We also meet organisations that have grown their way into a complex and tangled integration landscape. Old file transfers, duplicated connections and undocumented dependencies create risk with every change. Nuvinno helps you tidy up, simplify and modernise – step by step, without an unnecessary big bang.

  • Manual duplicate entry and sources of error

When employees have to key the same information into several places, the result is errors, delays and demotivation. We automate the transfer of data between systems with validation and logging, so that people can spend their time on tasks that require judgement – not copying.

  • Fragmented customer data and sales picture

CRM, ERP and support systems that do not share information give an incomplete picture of the customer. We synchronise customer data, contacts, agreements and history so that sales, finance and service work from the same information. That strengthens both the customer experience and internal efficiency.

  • Fragile point solutions with no overview

Many integrations grow organically over time without a common standard or documentation. When a key person leaves or a system is upgraded, critical data flows stop. We replace or modernise such solutions with robust architecture, monitoring and clear ownership.

  • Difficulty scaling with growth and new systems

Organisations that are growing or buying new systems often find that their integrations cannot keep pace. We design solutions that are modular and replaceable – so that you can add or swap systems without tearing down the entire integration landscape.

How does Nuvinno work?

We start by mapping systems, data flows and business processes. Who needs what, when and why? We then propose an integration architecture that decision-makers can understand and IT can deliver. We implement in iterations with clear deliverables, so that you see value along the way – not just at the end of a long project.

Quality and operability are built in from the start: logging, error handling, alerting and documentation come with every integration. We hand over to your team where appropriate, and offer ongoing managed services for clients who want us to take responsibility over time.

  1. Mapping the system landscape and data flows

We identify which systems exist, which data is moving today, and where friction arises. Interviews with key users and a review of existing integrations give a realistic picture – not just a technical diagram.

  2. Designing the integration architecture

Based on the mapping, we design the solution, including the choice of patterns, platform and security. We clarify master data, the direction of synchronisation, error handling and monitoring. The design is approved together with you before implementation begins.

  3. Implementation and testing

We build the integrations using modern tools and best practice for APIs and data synchronisation. Thorough testing – including failure scenarios and performance – ensures the solution stands up to everyday use. We roll out in a controlled manner to minimise the risk of operational disruption.

  4. Monitoring, management and continuous development

After go-live, we establish monitoring, alerting and change procedures. When systems are updated or new needs arise, we develop the integrations further in step with your organisation. You get a landscape that keeps evolving – not a one-off solution.

What do we deliver?

Our deliverables range from standalone integrations to comprehensive integration programmes. Whatever the scope, you get solutions that are documented, easy to monitor and tailored to your system landscape – with clear value for both the business and IT.

We deliver integrations that can be explained in a meeting with leadership, not just in a technical forum. That is a prerequisite for the solution actually being managed and developed further.

  • Mapping and documentation of existing systems and data flows
  • Integration architecture with recommended platform and patterns
  • API integrations between cloud-based and on-premises systems
  • ERP and CRM connections for customers, orders, invoices and master data
  • Data synchronisation with a defined master, conflict handling and validation
  • Integration platform in Azure with Logic Apps, Service Bus or API Management
  • Logging, monitoring and alerting for errors or discrepancies in data flows
  • Documentation and handover to operations and internal IT
  • Ongoing management and adaptation when systems change

Benefits for your organisation

Well-integrated systems deliver measurable results: lower costs, fewer errors, faster processes and a better basis for decisions. Nuvinno helps you realise those results without building in unnecessary complexity.

  • More efficient work processes

When data flows automatically between systems, unnecessary manual steps disappear. Employees are freed up for value-adding work, and throughput in critical processes increases – from order to invoice, from sale to delivery.

  • Better data quality and confidence in the figures

Consistent data synchronisation and validation reduce discrepancies between departments. Leadership can place more trust in reports and dashboards, and users no longer have to wonder which system holds the right version of the truth.

  • Flexibility for growth and system replacement

With the right architecture, it becomes easier to introduce new systems or replace old ones without bringing the organisation to a standstill. Integrations become an enabler of change – not an obstacle.

  • Lower long-term integration costs

Structured, documented integrations are cheaper to maintain than ad hoc solutions that have to be debugged from scratch every time. You avoid technical debt that slows down digitalisation over time.

Who is the service for?

Integrations are relevant to organisations that use more than one system in their core processes – in other words, the vast majority. The service is a particularly good fit when manual transfers start to cost too much, when data quality is deteriorating, or when new system investments do not deliver their full value because they are not connected to the rest of the landscape.

We work with medium-sized and larger organisations, the public sector and industries with many line-of-business systems. What they have in common is a desire for reliable data flows and a partner that understands both technology and business processes.

  • Organisations whose ERP and CRM do not share data today
  • Organisations with several line-of-business systems and manual transfers
  • Companies introducing a new system that must be connected to existing ones
  • Organisations with older integrations in need of modernisation
  • Groups that need synchronisation between subsidiaries and shared platforms
  • Leadership teams that want to reduce silos and strengthen their basis for decisions

Why choose Nuvinno?

Nuvinno combines integration expertise with an understanding of the system landscape in Norwegian organisations – ERP vendors, industry solutions, public-sector standards and cloud platforms. We talk to the business side as easily as we talk to developers, and we design solutions you can rely on in production – not just ones that look impressive in a demo.

We use Microsoft Azure as the integration foundation where it makes sense, but always choose what suits the client’s context. What matters most is that the integrations are robust, observable and manageable – qualities that are often overlooked in the rush, but that determine whether the solution lasts.

Because we also deliver development, operations and security, we see the whole picture. For us, integrations are part of a sustainable digital landscape – not isolated connections that create new problems somewhere else. You get a partner that takes responsibility for making sure data actually flows correctly, even when something changes.

Frequently asked questions

Which systems can you integrate?

We integrate most modern systems that offer APIs, webhooks or standardised file formats – including ERP, CRM, HR, warehouse systems and industry-specific line-of-business systems. We have experience with Norwegian and international platforms, as well as cloud-based and on-premises solutions. During the mapping phase, we always clarify the technical prerequisites and any limitations on the vendors’ side.

What is the difference between API integration and data synchronisation?

API integration is about how systems exchange data in real time or on demand – for example when an order is created in one system and has to be passed on to another straight away. Data synchronisation focuses on keeping information consistent over time across several systems, with clearly defined master data and rules for updates. We often combine the two: APIs for events, and synchronisation for master data and reconciliation.

How long does a typical integration take?

A simple point-to-point integration can be delivered in a few weeks, while larger programmes involving several systems and processes extend over months. We always divide the work into phases with early wins, so that you see results along the way. After a mapping exercise, we provide a realistic estimate tailored to your priorities and dependencies.

How are errors and discrepancies in data flows handled?

Every integration we build includes logging, alerting and procedures for error handling. When something fails – for example invalid data or an unavailable system – it is caught, logged and escalated according to agreed rules. Where possible, we build in automatic retries and queues; otherwise we make sure the right person is notified quickly enough to act.

Can you take over the management of existing integrations?

Yes. We carry out an assessment of the existing solutions, documentation and risk. Where appropriate, we take over operations and continuous development – or help you modernise step by step. The aim is a stable flow of data without you having to start from scratch unless it is genuinely necessary.
