Cybersecurity that gives your leadership control and confidence

Threats to digital assets are growing, and the requirements from regulators and customers are becoming clearer. Nuvinno helps leadership and IT build a security posture that is understandable, measurable and suited to your reality – with Microsoft’s security platform as the foundation and practical preparedness that ensures you can act when it matters.

Security

Security as a business priority, not a technical detail

For many organisations, cybersecurity has gone from being an IT topic to a question that the board, the chief executive and the managing director have to take a position on. A security breach can hit reputation, operations, finances and trust – and the consequences are felt far beyond the IT department. At the same time, it is hard to know where to start when advisors speak in jargon, vendors sell products you are not sure you need, and internal resources are already tied up in day-to-day operations.

Nuvinno approaches cybersecurity in a way that decision-makers can understand. We translate technical measures into risk, responsibility and priorities that can be discussed by the leadership team. The aim is not to achieve perfect security on paper, but to reduce real risk, meet the relevant requirements and build an organisation that can withstand both mistakes and attacks. We know Norwegian organisations, the public sector and regulated industries, and we know that one model does not fit all – which is why we always start with your context, not with a standard package.

Our work builds on Microsoft’s security ecosystem, which many organisations have already invested in through Microsoft 365 and Azure. It provides a common language for identity, devices, email, cloud and data – and makes it easier to see the whole picture rather than individual tools. At the same time, good security is at least as much about processes, roles and preparedness as it is about licences. We help you bring it all together, so that security becomes an integral part of how you work digitally – not an add-on that comes afterwards.

What is the service?

Cybersecurity at Nuvinno is a comprehensive service covering the assessment, planning, implementation, operation and improvement of IT security. We help organisations understand where they stand today, which threats and requirements are most relevant, and which measures deliver the greatest effect relative to cost and effort. The service is aimed at leadership and IT managers who need both specialist depth and clear communication upwards in the organisation.

We cover everything from basic security hygiene to more advanced areas such as identity management, threat monitoring, secure email, securing cloud resources and incident preparedness. For organisations covered by NIS2, GDPR and industry-specific requirements, we help you map the gaps, establish documentation and build a governance model that stands up to audits and dialogue with supervisory authorities. We are not auditors, but we make the work concrete enough for you to make informed choices and show progress over time.

The service can be delivered as an engagement to raise your level of security, as ongoing advisory and managed services, or as a combination in which we both design and operate security solutions together with your team. Whatever the model, we emphasise ownership within your own organisation: we want you to understand what has been done, why it has been done, and who is responsible when something happens. That is the foundation for lasting confidence – not just a one-off report left in a drawer.

Microsoft is central to our approach because it connects productivity and security. Whether you use Entra ID for identity, Defender for threats, Purview for compliance or Sentinel for monitoring, we help you get more out of the investments you have already made. Where there are gaps – for example older on-premises systems, third-party solutions or specialised line-of-business systems – we design measures that fit into the whole without creating new silos.

What challenges do we solve?

Many organisations find that their security work is fragmented. Different departments have bought different tools, IT carries the responsibility without a sufficient mandate, and leadership has little overview of the actual risk. We help you pull the threads together, set the right priorities and establish a security model that is anchored in the organisation – not just in the technology.

We often meet organisations that know something has to be done but lack a realistic roadmap. Perhaps you have received recommendations from an audit, heard about NIS2 in the media, or had a near miss that caused concern. Nuvinno helps you move from uncertainty to action with clear steps, sensible deadlines and measurable results.

  • Unclear risk assessment and prioritisation

Leadership needs a simple picture of what actually threatens the organisation, which systems and data are most critical, and which measures should come first. We map the current situation, identify gaps and translate the findings into a basis for prioritisation that can be used in budget and strategy processes. The result is not a technical report that nobody reads, but decision support that gives direction.

  • Compliance and regulatory requirements

NIS2, GDPR, privacy, industry requirements and customer contracts place ever higher demands on documentation, control and accountability. We help you understand what applies to your organisation, map where you stand today, and implement measures that both reduce risk and strengthen compliance. The goal is practical compliance – not paperwork for its own sake.

  • Weak identity and access management

Incorrect access rights, shared passwords and a lack of control over who has access to what are still among the most common causes of security incidents. We design and implement robust identity management with Microsoft Entra ID, multi-factor authentication, conditional access and clear processes for onboarding and offboarding. This reduces the risk of both internal misuse and external attacks via compromised accounts.

  • Lack of incident preparedness

When something happens, minutes and hours count. Many organisations do not have tested plans, clear roles or technical procedures for detecting, containing and handling incidents. We help you build incident response plans, establish monitoring and logging, and run exercises that leave the organisation better prepared. Preparedness is as much about communication and leadership as it is about technology.

How does Nuvinno work?

We always start by understanding your organisation – industry, size, existing IT landscape, regulatory obligations and security maturity. We then design an approach that is realistic to carry out with the resources you have, whether in-house or together with us. We believe in step-by-step improvement rather than large, slow projects that lose momentum.

Throughout the engagement, we communicate clearly with both IT and leadership. You get an overview of status, risk and recommendations at a level that suits the recipient. Technical details are shared with IT, while leadership receives decision support and progress reporting that focus on impact and responsibility.

  1. Mapping and risk assessment

We carry out a structured mapping of systems, data, access rights, processes and existing security measures. Based on this, we prepare a risk assessment that identifies the most important gaps and recommends prioritised measures. The mapping may include interviews, a technical review and a review of policies and procedures.

  2. Roadmap and prioritisation

Together with you, we draw up a roadmap that balances risk, cost and feasibility. We divide the measures into quick wins, structural improvements and long-term gains in maturity. The roadmap can be linked to your budget, resource plan and any regulatory deadlines, so that you stay in control of progress.

  3. Implementation and hardening

We implement the agreed measures in the Microsoft environment and connected systems – for example security configuration, identity controls, email protection, logging and monitoring. Every change is documented, and we make sure your operations team understands what has changed and how it should be managed going forward.

  4. Preparedness, training and continuous improvement

We establish or improve preparedness procedures, run exercises and provide training for the relevant roles. We then follow up with periodic assessments, adjustments and reporting, so that your level of security is maintained as the organisation, the threat landscape and the technology change.

What do we deliver?

Our deliverables are tailored to your needs, but follow a clear structure that ensures you get documentation, technical measures and organisational buy-in. We deliver what is needed to make decisions, implement changes and show progress over time – whether to internal leadership, the board or external parties.

Everything we deliver is meant to be used – not filed away. That is why we emphasise clarity, practical usefulness and handover to your team where appropriate.

  • Structured risk assessment and gap analysis with prioritised recommendations
  • Security roadmap tailored to your organisation’s maturity, budget and regulatory requirements
  • Configuration and rollout of Microsoft security solutions (Entra ID, Defender, Purview and more)
  • Identity and access management with MFA, conditional access and user lifecycle management
  • Incident response plan, preparedness procedures and support with incident handling
  • Compliance support for NIS2, GDPR and relevant industry requirements
  • Logging, monitoring and alerting via Microsoft Sentinel or equivalent
  • Training and awareness-raising for leadership, IT and key users
  • Periodic status reporting and improvement plans for ongoing management

Benefits for your organisation

An investment in cybersecurity should deliver measurable value – not just peace of mind, but a concrete reduction in risk, better control and a stronger ability to handle the unexpected. Nuvinno helps you achieve that without overcomplicating everyday work or tying you to solutions that do not suit your organisation.

  • Clearer decision support for leadership

You get a picture of your security that can be presented to the board and the owners without anyone having to translate from technical jargon. Risk, status and priorities become visible, which makes it easier to allocate resources and make responsible choices.

  • Stronger compliance with requirements and expectations

With documented processes, technical controls and traceability, it becomes easier to meet the requirements of regulators, customers and partners. You reduce the risk of breaches that can lead to fines, lost contracts or reputational damage.

  • Reduced risk of downtime and data loss

Proactive measures against threats, better monitoring and faster response reduce the likelihood of serious incidents. When something does happen, you are better equipped to limit the damage and restore normal operations.

  • Better use of your Microsoft investments

Many organisations pay for security features they do not use to the full. We help you enable, configure and integrate Microsoft’s security tools so that you get more value from the platform you already have.

Who is the service for?

Cybersecurity is relevant to the vast majority of organisations that depend on digital systems – whatever the industry. Our service is particularly valuable for organisations that face growing demands from the outside world, have limited in-house security expertise, or want a partner that can work closely with both leadership and IT.

We work with small and medium-sized organisations, larger groups, the public sector and organisations in regulated industries. What they have in common is that they take security seriously and want an approach that is anchored in the business – not just in the IT department.

  • Organisations preparing for NIS2 that need practical guidance
  • Organisations with Microsoft 365 and Azure that want stronger security
  • Leadership teams that need an overview of IT risk and measures
  • Organisations that have experienced a security incident or a near miss
  • Public and private sector organisations with privacy and data security requirements
  • Groups and subsidiaries that need common security standards

Why choose Nuvinno?

Nuvinno combines Nordic business understanding with deep expertise in Microsoft’s security platform. We speak the language of leadership as fluently as the language of the IT department, and we deliver solutions tailored to Norwegian organisations – not copied from large international templates with no local grounding.

We believe in honesty about risk: nobody can guarantee that nothing will happen, but everyone can be better prepared. That is why we focus on practical measures, a clear division of responsibility and continuous improvement. You get a partner that is available, understands your context and takes responsibility for making sure the work actually gets done – not just planned.

For us, security is not isolated from the rest of what we do. We know integrations, cloud, operations and development, and can make sure the measures fit into your digital landscape as a whole. That means fewer conflicts between security and productivity, and more lasting results over time.

Frequently asked questions

What does NIS2 mean for our organisation?

NIS2 is the EU directive on network and information security, which Norway is implementing through national legislation. The directive sets requirements for risk management, incident reporting, supplier oversight and management accountability for organisations in selected sectors and critical supply chains. Nuvinno helps you assess whether you are covered, map the gaps against the requirements and establish measures that make sense in your context. We translate regulatory text into concrete actions and documentation you can actually use.

Do we have to replace our existing security tools?

Not necessarily. We start with what you have, including Microsoft solutions that are often already part of your licences. Where there are gaps or overlaps, we recommend the measures that will have the greatest effect – either by making better use of existing tools or through targeted additions. The aim is a coherent, efficient whole, not to sell new products for no reason.

How long does it take to raise the level of security?

That depends on your starting point and level of ambition. Simple improvements such as MFA, secure email and basic policies can often be implemented in a matter of weeks. More extensive work on identity management, monitoring and preparedness typically extends over months. We always divide the work into prioritised phases so that you see results early, while building lasting maturity over time.

Can you help us if we experience a security incident?

Yes. We help you analyse the incident, limit the damage, restore systems and document the course of events. We also help with internal and external communication where relevant, and with learning from the incident so that similar situations are prevented. For clients with an ongoing agreement, we can establish preparedness procedures and response times in advance.

How do we measure whether the security work is delivering results?

Together we define measurable indicators – for example the number of unaddressed vulnerabilities, the proportion of users with MFA, incident response time, or the status of compliance requirements. Regular reporting gives leadership insight into progress and remaining risk. That way, you avoid security becoming a one-off project that is forgotten when the next priority claims attention.
